Myanmar Junta Expresses Concern Over Rising Military Tensions in the Middle East

7 March 2026 | New Day Myanmar

Myanmar’s junta Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement expressing deep concern over the escalating military tensions in the Middle East, where reciprocal attacks have reportedly occurred between Iran and the United States and Israel.

The statement said that conflicts between nations can only be resolved through constructive dialogue and diplomatic efforts based on the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.

It also urged all relevant parties to exercise restraint in order to reduce tensions in the region.

At the same time, the statement comes as daily clashes continue within Myanmar between ethnic armed organizations and resistance forces, while the junta itself remains engaged in ongoing conflicts across the country.
