Drone and Artillery Attack by Junta in Nyaung Lay Pin District Kills Woman, Injures Four Including Two Children

In Nyaung Lay Pin District (Kale Lu Tu District), Bago Region, a woman was killed and four others, including two children, were injured in an attack by the Myanmar military junta using drones and artillery, according to a statement from the Karen National Union (KNU).

The KNU reported that the junta targeted civilian areas in Kyauk Kyi (Leh Doh) and Mone (Muu) townships with intentional drone bombings and artillery fire aimed at populated areas. On the morning of November 13, the 264th Battalion stationed in Pein Zaw Lo village, Kyauk Kyi Township, launched a drone attack on Kyauk Kone village, resulting in injuries to two young children, ages six months and eight years, as a home was struck.

On the night of November 12, the 264th Battalion used drones to bomb Wan Cha and Maek Sali Kone villages, as well as Kyauk Kone village, while also bombing Kyaing Kyone village and the Chaint Gyone Bridge area. Additionally, on November 12 in Mone Township, a drone strike by the 439th Battalion on Myet Ni Kone village resulted in the death of a 20-year-old woman and injuries to an elderly woman.

Earlier, on the morning of November 11, a coalition force of the junta fired two 120mm artillery shells, one of which exploded in the center of Thwan Ni Kone village, injuring another woman.
