A passenger aircraft operated by Russia’s Azur Air made an emergency landing at Yangon International Airport after experiencing a mechanical malfunction during flight, according to reports.
The incident occurred on March 8 while the aircraft was flying over Myanmar’s coastal region. After detecting the mechanical problem, the crew sent an emergency signal to Yangon Airport and requested permission to divert and land.
Through coordination between airport air traffic control and the flight crew, the aircraft successfully landed at Yangon International Airport.
The plane was carrying 336 Russian passengers and 10 crew members, totaling 346 people on board. Despite the emergency landing, Russian sources reported that no injuries occurred.
The aircraft had been flying from Tyumen, Russia, to Nha Trang, Vietnam, when it was forced to divert due to the emergency situation.
