In the 29th day of the second phase of Operation 1027, the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has reported significant gains in Kyaukme and Mogok townships. On July 23, the TNLA announced that they had seized a large cache of weapons and captured over 50 enemy bodies and prisoners from the military junta forces.
From July 20 to 22, joint forces of TNLA and PDF (Kyaukme District) engaged in battles with the military junta’s 11th Division, including Infantry Battalions 202 and 203. The joint forces successfully overran the Nam Si Lin Monastery and Aishaw Gate, capturing various weapons including 26 MA1 rifles, 16 MA3 rifles, 4 MA4 rifles, 12 MA11 rifles, 10 MA2 rifles, 1 grenade launcher, 2 45MM mortars, 1 120MM mortar, and 85 military equipment items. Additionally, they captured enemy bodies and prisoners.
Further engagements occurred in Mogok Township’s eastern police stations, where TNLA and PDF (Mogok Vyuha) forces clashed with the Central Command’s Infantry Battalions 71 and 88. On July 23, in Chanta Gyi village, the TNLA captured 1 rifle and 19 prisoners. They also seized 16 rifles, 1 RPG, and 1 60MM mortar from the military junta forces stationed at Maso Yein Monastery in Mogok, along with 16 enemy bodies.
