Thailand’s new Foreign Minister, Maris Sangiampongsa, recently stated that Thailand is committed to resolving the Myanmar crisis through peaceful negotiations. Recognizing the significance of stability in neighboring countries, he emphasized the ongoing security concerns along the Thai-Myanmar border due to the Myanmar situation.
Speaking to reporters last Friday, Minister Maris highlighted that Thailand’s foreign policy prioritizes mutual peace and cooperation with neighboring countries. He noted that the stability of the region is essential for Thailand’s security and prosperity, and addressing the Myanmar crisis is crucial for maintaining this stability.
Minister Maris stressed the need for joint efforts to curb lawless activities, such as online criminal gangs, in regions along the Thai-Myanmar border where the rule of law is weak. He called for collaborative measures to address these issues effectively.
Thailand’s foreign minister affirmed the country’s commitment to prioritizing the resolution of the Myanmar crisis. He pledged Thailand’s active participation in peace negotiations aimed at effectively resolving the conflict. Recognizing the importance of humanitarian aid, he assured that Thailand would continue its efforts to provide necessary support, urging relevant parties to cooperate in these endeavors.
