The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) announced today that resistance forces have taken control of Pale Town. On July 7, the resistance forces entered and seized the town, attacking the junta’s police station and the combined office simultaneously.
The takeover occurred after nearly three hours of intense fighting, during which the resistance forces captured some enemy bunkers and detained two members of the People’s Security Force. The PLA stated that the detainees have been handed over to the township administration.
This operation was a joint effort by the PLA’s Northwest Military Region – Unit 815, the All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF) – Column 3 Battalion 14 (Chin State), the Burma Liberation Democratic Front (BLDF), the Black Tiger Guerrilla Force, and local village resistance groups.
After securing the police station and the combined office, PLA forces moved to the town center to maintain security and order. However, there has been no official statement from the resistance forces regarding civilian casualties during the conflict.
