On the morning of July 6, around 9 AM, People’s National Liberation Army (PNO) forces raided Narkhaik Village in Sisai Township, killing three villagers and detaining ten others, according to a statement from the Pa-O National Liberation Army (PNLA).
PNO forces entered Narkhaik Village using both heavy and small arms, firing upon residents and assaulting them. They also set fire to eight houses in the village. Narkhaik is known to be the native village of the PNLA’s Chief of Staff and has now suffered two such attacks, the first of which occurred in April.
The PNO targeted villagers they accused of supporting the resistance movement, executing three men in the village center. The victims were confirmed to be residents of Narkhaik.
“There was no ongoing battle; they simply marched into the village and carried out the attack. They indeed killed three people,” a local resident confirmed to New Day Myanmar.
The PNO forces also burned a car and seized another vehicle along with 26 motorcycles. The PNO’s leader has made threats on social media, stating, “If you support U Thurein’s PDF, we will burn down the entire village.”
