The report, titled “Women Political Prisoners During the Spring Revolution,” highlights that most of the female casualties were caused by artillery and airstrikes. Additionally, many women died while being detained in prisons, police stations, and military interrogation centers.
Among those who died while in detention, the report states that eight women died in prisons, two in police stations, and four in military interrogation centers. The majority of the 5,649 women arrested were from Yangon Region, with 1,440 women detained in the area.
The AAPP calls for international bodies and relevant authorities to take action against the Myanmar military for its arbitrary arrests, sexual violence, and killings targeting women.
