The Myanmar military continues to carry out daily airstrikes and artillery attacks on Thibaw and Naung Cho Townships in northern Shan State, according to a statement by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) on September 19.
On September 19, between 12:30 PM and 1:50 PM, the military launched three airstrikes using jet fighters, dropping a total of 11 bombs, including several 500-pound bombs, which caused significant damage. The bombs landed in Kun Kyone village in Thibaw Township, destroying several homes and displacing civilians.
Similarly, at around 3:00 AM on the same day, the military bombed Naung Cho Township with more than 60 bombs from a Y-12 aircraft. The airstrikes targeted areas near the Naung Cho railway station, Dhammayon (Buddhist hall), Ngakpyaw Kyan area, and the central market, resulting in damage to houses and shops.
These attacks are part of the military’s ongoing strategy to bomb and shell civilian areas under TNLA control, causing widespread destruction and terror in the region.
