Ms. Ma Jia has officially arrived in Myanmar on August 12, 2024, to assume her role as the Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, according to an announcement made by the Chinese Embassy today, August 13.
Ms. Ma Jia is the 20th Chinese ambassador to Myanmar, succeeding Mr. Chen Hai. She previously served as the Third Secretary at the Chinese Embassy in Yangon from 1995 to 1998.
Before her current assignment, Ms. Ma Jia served as the Minister and Deputy Head of Mission at the Chinese Embassy in India.
Additionally, the Chinese government has appointed Ms. Gao Ping as the new Consul General at the Chinese Consulate in Mandalay, further strengthening diplomatic ties between China and Myanmar.
