In a recent statement, a senior orthopedic specialist at the No. 9 100-bed Military Hospital in Lashio, Shan State, confirmed that MNDAA (Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army) forces did not attack the hospital. Instead, they ensured the safe relocation and treatment of injured soldiers, their families, and medical staff.
The specialist, who served at the hospital until the final moments of the conflict, stated that when MNDAA forces entered, there was no gunfire. The medical personnel, wounded soldiers, and their families were safely evacuated to secure locations. The MNDAA facilitated the treatment of patients at the hospital.
The orthopedic specialist emphasized that the MNDAA’s actions were focused on ensuring the well-being of all those at the hospital. This statement counters any claims of aggressive actions against the medical facility.
New Day Myanmar News Agency has not independently verified whether the MNDAA attacked the hospital.
