This morning, at around 4:00 AM, the military junta launched an airstrike on Lashio, a town controlled by the MNDAA. The bombing targeted Ward 12, with bombs landing near Silver Sky Hotel and the Union Sports Complex. Fortunately, no casualties were reported, according to a Lashio resident who spoke with New Day Myanmar. Damage assessments are still being conducted.
The Silver Sky Hotel previously housed political prisoners and MNDAA officials, according to local sources. The aircraft reportedly departed from Taunggyi at around 1:30 AM, with Taunggyi residents confirming its departure. Before striking Lashio, the jet circled over Muse, Namhkam, and northern Shan State before dropping the bombs on Lashio.
The airstrike damaged several cars and the indoor sports arena in Ward 12. According to the NUG’s Ministry of Health, a total of 40 people have been killed and over 40 injured in recent airstrikes across the country.
