On September 28 at around 8:30 p.m., the military junta conducted an airstrike on Lashio, Northern Shan State, using a jet fighter, according to local sources. This marks the eighth airstrike on Lashio, which is under the control of the MNDAA, within a month.
The airstrike targeted the vicinity of Ward 8, where a bomb landed directly on a workshop located behind an office. Fortunately, there were no casualties, as the people who normally stay there had moved to another location for the night. However, the strike caused severe damage to nearby residential buildings and vehicles.
“The bomb fell near Mansu Hotel, in the area known locally as the ‘Brick Apartment Complex.’ There’s a workshop there. Luckily, the people who usually sleep at the workshop were not there that night. The cars and nearby houses were badly damaged,” a local resident told New Day Myanmar.
The junta previously carried out bombings on August 30 and on September 8, 9, 21, 24, 25, 27, and 28, resulting in the deaths of three civilians and injuries to 38 others, according to an MNDAA statement.
