An airstrike by junta forces on Namhsan Town, located in northern Shan State, on the night of August 12, 2024, resulted in the death of one civilian and left another injured, according to reports from TNLA (Ta’ang National Liberation Army).
The airstrike occurred in three waves: at 11:31 PM, 11:45 PM, and 11:51 PM, with a total of six bombs being dropped. The bombs struck the EPC office in the town center, killing a 30-year-old local resident and injuring another, as confirmed by TNLA.
The airstrike also caused damage to transformers within the EPC office premises, and five nearby buildings, including the town’s main monastery and residential homes, were reported to be damaged.
This incident follows a similar attack on August 6, when junta forces carried out an airstrike on Kutkai, a town under the control of PSLF/TNLA, resulting in six civilian deaths and ten injuries. That attack also led to the destruction of over 400 homes and shops, as stated in previous reports.
