According to data collected by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP), 57 civilians were killed across Myanmar between November 1 and November 29, 2024, as a result of the junta’s violent actions. AAPP released this report on November 29.
Out of the 57 fatalities, 31 were women, and 44 were men. Rakhine State recorded the highest death toll with 21 fatalities. Among the total casualties, 41 deaths were caused by junta airstrikes, making air attacks the leading cause of civilian fatalities during the month.
Additionally, during the same period, 27 individuals—comprising 2 women and 25 men—were arbitrarily arrested across the country. Bago Region accounted for the highest number of arrests, with 8 individuals detained.
Since the coup began, a total of 27,741 people have been arrested, of whom 21,179 remain in detention, including 9,546 individuals who have been sentenced to imprisonment.
AAPP emphasized that the numbers presented are based on verified reports it has been able to collect. However, the actual figures are likely to be significantly higher due to ongoing conflicts and limited access to information in certain areas.
