The People’s Defense Force (Mandalay) has announced that it has successfully captured all military camps and the entirety of Singu Town as of July 17, 2024. This marks the first town in Mandalay Region to be fully controlled by the People’s Defense Force (PDF).

According to the statement released on July 20, Singu Township is now entirely free from junta control. The operation resulted in the capture of numerous junta soldiers and a significant amount of weapons and ammunition.

The PDF (Mandalay) acknowledged the sacrifices made by their comrades during the Singu offensive, paying tribute to those who lost their lives in the fight. They highlighted the historic significance of this victory for the region.

However, the operation was not without its challenges. The junta launched continuous airstrikes, resulting in considerable damage to civilian areas and homes within the town.
