The People’s National Liberation Army (PNLA) reported today that the junta-aligned People’s National Organization (PNO) forces raided Narkhaik Village in Sisai Township, looting and destroying property, including 156 homes.
On July 6, PNO forces entered Narkhaik Village, firing small arms and artillery, resulting in the deaths of three villagers and the looting of various valuables, including 15 Buddha statues, cash, cars, and motorcycles. The PNLA’s statement detailed the extent of the damage and theft:
- Vehicles: 4 cars and 28 motorcycles looted
- Shops: 4 general stores ransacked
- Statues: 15 Buddha statues taken
- Homes: 156 homes looted, 8 homes burned, and 4 homes damaged without burning
- Deaths and Injuries: 3 villagers killed, 8 beaten
- Other Looted Items: 14 phones, 26 power banks, 10 gold pieces, and 34 million Kyats in cash
- Religious Sites: The village monastery was attacked three times, but details on specific damage were not provided
Additionally, the PNLA reported that the family home of the PNLA Chief of Staff was burned for the second time, with the first incident occurring in April. Narkhaik Village, located in Lwel Maw Taung area of Sisai Township, comprises over 350 households and is the birthplace of the PNLA Chief of Staff.
The PNLA’s statement highlighted the continued targeting of their leader’s home and the village, indicating a pattern of systematic attacks by the PNO forces.
