The Myanmar military junta committed a total of 558 human rights violations throughout July, with extrajudicial killings being the most prevalent, according to a report released by the Ministry of Human Rights under the National Unity Government (NUG).
The report highlights that the junta conducted 21 airstrikes in Shan State alone, making it the region most affected by military aggression in July.
During these airstrikes, 122 homes, six schools, eight religious buildings, and two hospitals were destroyed. The attacks resulted in the deaths of 126 civilians, while 105 others sustained injuries.
The junta also carried out mass killings across the country, with a reported 164 people being victims of these atrocities during the month.
The report underscores the junta’s widespread and systematic human rights abuses, which have continued unabated, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in Myanmar.
