Numerous homes were destroyed by fire in Tayar Pin Village, Singu Township, Mandalay Region, following an arson attack by military forces and Pyu Saw Htee militia, according to a report from the Wetlet Informational Network.
On June 15, 2024, soldiers from the military base in Shwe Pyi Village, along with Pyu Saw Htee militia, entered Tayar Pin Village and set fire to approximately 35 civilian homes. The attack resulted in extensive property damage.
The arson occurred after resistance forces engaged the military convoy with landmines at the village entrance. Following the clash, where there were reported casualties on the military side, the troops retaliated by burning the village.
In the aftermath of the confrontation, the military, reportedly facing casualties, received artillery support from the Shwe Pyi military hospital, where a field hospital had been established.
