A clinic operated by NUG-affiliated resistance forces in Sawbwa Reshin Village, Kalay Township, Sagaing Region, was bombed by the military junta on August 27, resulting in the death of a resistance fighter and injury to a patient.
The attack occurred at around 3 p.m. when a 500-pound bomb was dropped on the village clinic, which is located along the Kalay-Kalaywa road. The bomb directly hit the clinic, killing a PDF fighter who was guarding a patient and injuring one other patient who was unable to escape in time.
Local sources suggest that the airstrike was carried out due to a tip-off. This is not the first time the clinic has been targeted; it was previously attacked with precise airstrikes.
The fallen fighter was confirmed to be a member of the Special Battalion SR-4 of Tamu District’s People’s Defense Force (PDF), according to a statement from the Tamu People’s Defense Force.
In addition to Sawbwa Reshin Village, other nearby villages along the Kalay-Kalaywa road, including Kanann and Khanpat, have also been subjected to airstrikes this year, resulting in the deaths of at least 30 civilians.
