Civilian Injured by Landmine Planted by Military in Hsihseng Township

A civilian was injured after stepping on a landmine planted by the military in Hsihseng Township, Northern Shan State, according to a statement released today by the Pa-O National Liberation Army (PNLA).

Nanthari, a resident of Naungyin Village in Naungkyaw Village Tract, was returning from a location with mobile signal reception when he stepped on the landmine on June 13. The incident occurred on a commonly used path.

As a result of the explosion, Nanthari lost one of his legs and sustained injuries to his face.

Previously, another resident from Naungyin Village was injured by a landmine planted by the military while returning from fetching water. Additionally, on June 6, Daw Soe Soe Lat from Myakanthar Ward in Hsihseng stepped on a military-planted landmine and died as a result.
