Myanmar Military Conducts 47 Airstrikes in Two Days on Naung Cho and Thibaw Townships

In the 50th and 51st days of the second phase of Operation 1027, the Myanmar military carried out 47 airstrikes on Naung Cho and Thibaw Townships, according to a statement released by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA).

The TNLA reported ongoing clashes between its forces and units from the Myanmar military’s Division 99, under the command of the 302nd Infantry Regiment, the 325th Infantry Regiment of the Eastern Central Command, and the 306th Infantry Regiment of the Central Command in the areas of Naung Cho and Naung Lin villages.

Similarly, in Thibaw Township, the military has launched four airstrikes using Jet Fighters and 16 airstrikes using Y-12 reconnaissance aircraft, dropping a total of 124 bombs on various locations. Additional airstrikes and bombings were reported in Naung Cho Township, with one Y-12 aircraft dropping four bombs.

The TNLA also reported that on August 14, the military conducted 21 airstrikes within a single day, following 26 airstrikes on August 13 in the same regions. The airstrikes have resulted in civilian casualties, although specific numbers have not been confirmed.
