The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has accused the Military Council of breaching the Haigeng Agreement and launching attacks against TNLA and civilians. TNLA announced on June 19, 2024, that the Military Council had blocked roads in TNLA-controlled areas using excavation machinery and conducted airstrikes on TNLA camps on June 18 and 19, resulting in three TNLA soldiers’ deaths and four others severely injured.

According to TNLA’s statement, on June 19 at 11:30 AM, Military Council forces stationed in Naungcho Township bombed the TNLA camp in Sammasai village twice using drones, killing two TNLA soldiers. Additionally, on June 18, Military Council troops stationed in Umati village bombed the TNLA camp near Sammasai village with drones, resulting in one TNLA soldier’s death and four others severely injured.

On the same day at 3:30 PM, the Military Council conducted a jet airstrike on Taungni village in Mogok Township, Mandalay Region, injuring three civilians, including a 10-year-old child, and destroying two houses, according to TNLA’s statement.

Despite the Military Council, TNLA, and other allied forces agreeing to a temporary ceasefire known as the Haigeng Agreement, facilitated by China, the Military Council has violated this agreement by initiating these attacks on TNLA territories and camps.

TNLA’s statement further emphasized that the Military Council is not only targeting TNLA forces but also civilians, leading to numerous human rights violations. The statement mentioned that the PSLF/TNLA is documenting these violations committed by the Military Council.
