In July alone, 63 women across Myanmar were killed, and 43 were injured due to military attacks, according to an August 6 report from the Burmese Women’s Union (BWU).
The report states that out of the total fatalities, 42 women were killed by airstrikes and artillery shelling, making it the leading cause of death. The remaining deaths were attributed to various other causes, including gunfire during battles, drone strikes, and being burned alive.
The data also reveals that Shan State had the highest number of female fatalities, with 22 women killed in the ongoing conflicts, followed by Mandalay Region with 17 deaths.
These figures were compiled from information provided by the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) and verified by reliable media sources, as mentioned by the BWU.
In comparison, during June, the BWU recorded 67 women killed and 59 injured nationwide due to military attacks.
