Despite the MNDAA maintaining control over the entire Northeastern Command, including Lashio in northern Shan State, military leader Min Aung Hlaing has appointed new military officials, including a new commander for the region.
Major General Myint Kyaw Htun, previously serving at the Office of the Chief of Military Training, has been appointed as the new commander of the Northeastern Command.
Reports indicate that Major Hein Htet Naung from the Defence Services Academy (DSA) has been assigned as the commander of the No. 1 Operations Command Headquarters in Kyaukme. Major Zaw Min Htet, also from the DSA, will take command of the 101st Light Infantry Division.
Other appointments include Major Lin Naing Soe as the deputy commander of the Central Command, Major Kyaw Myo Htike as the commander of the No. 19 Operations Command Headquarters in Yay, and Major Kyaw Swar Win as the commander of the No. 17 Operations Command Headquarters in Mong Pan. Additionally, Major Kyaw Htet has been appointed as the commander of the No. 5 Operations Command Headquarters in Taung Kote, and Major Than Soe as the commander of the 11th Light Infantry Division based in Inndaw.
